The main summer vegetables are just starting to get into their stride but really need some rain to produce their best crops.
June saw an upgrade of my weather station to a Davis Vantage Pro 2 which is now connected on line and producing current weather details (updated every 15 mins) when I’m online. A sample of its monthly output is shown below.
The development of my weather web site is on hold until the main gardening year slows down in the autumn.

The dry weather seemed to keep the slugs at bay amongst the strawberries which produced an excellent crop thanks to the warm sunny weather. The lack of rain was not bad news for all our crops. In the fine weather. redcurrants also produced another bumper crop .
June 2010 Weather Summary
June turned out to be a warm month. Warm weather at the start and end of the month more than offset a cooler period in the middle.
For the gardener the main problem was lack of rainfall throughout the month. This came after a very dry May and dry April so by the end of June the plot and garden were exceptionally dry and in need of a good couple of days worth of rain.
