1 - 16 February

 

Very wet and windy so just one harvesting visit to the allotment

Harvested leeks, red cabbage and parsnips all of which have been frozen

Martyn repaired greenhouse roof

Rhubarb is growing quickly

Bulbs are also growing quickly and crocuses, mini daffodils and mini tulips are flowering

Hellebores are flowering well

Preparing for the new season

Frosty with gales to come

Storm Ciara arriving

Storm Ciara gone and good riddance

 

 

17 - 23 February

 

 

Apricot is flowering so I have been busy with my pollinating brush

Visited the plot to harvest a few vegetables but still too soggy to work

Enviromesh blown off brassicas and wood pigeons have attached the PSB

Newly planted rhubarb is emerging

Early rhubarb growing well

Hippeastrum/amarylis had a third flower stem

After the storms

It's getting repetitive

Wind and rain goes on and on

24 - 29 February

 

First camellia flowers

Clivia eaised from seed has a flower

Parent clivia flowering

Lots of tete a tete are flowering in the garden

Crocuses flowering

Storm Jorge still too wet and windy to garden

More wet weather - Four Times February average

February turned out to be a record breaker
