1 - 6 October

 

Another wet and miserable week

Cleared climbing beans and sweet corn

Some harvesting

Still very wet

Started tidying stored onions

Lifted late planted onion sets

Planted up spring bulb in pots and in garden

Pruned camella and chamomeles

Visit from Richard stead Radio Leeds

Rain, rain go away

21 - 27 October

 

 

Uncovered some beds on allotment

Dug over one bed but still wet

Started to reclaim the old strawberry bed

Sowed Perpetual spinach in plot greenhouse

Afternoon at Potteric Carr

Summer tubs placed in greenhouse for winter

Drying up a bit

Non-stop rain for over 24 hours

Still no let up

28 - 31 October

 

Harvested first parsnips

Dug a root of oca - disappointing

Frost blackened dahlias, French beans and oca

Detached strawberry runners and popped in greenhouse

Visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park
