I am really disappointed as today I noriced that the Bordeaux Mix with which we sprayed our peach and nectarine trees didn’t work. The trees are as bad as last year so I don;t expect any fruit again this year! More detail on my blog.

Things are moving along quickly in both the garden and on the plot, Every days there is something new. Our sowing and planting schedule is described here.
As usual the broad beans and peas are being attacked by weevils - I hope that as usual they will outgrow the damage and produce a good crop.
This year the peas have all been sown direct and have germinated well. We are hoping that this will lead stronger plants as transplanting has seemed to set plant back in the past.
The brassicas and onions are looking good. I hope we have managed to find a club root free bed in which to plant the brassicas. Cauliflowers have been added to the brassicas already planted.
Both autumn and spring planted onions are doing well. The autumn onions are the best they have been for a long time and will soon be ready to use. I’m picking off the flower buds to try and stop them going to seed. The shallots are also doing well.
In the garden the borers are filling up and new plants added to fill any gaps.
As the frames were ready for delivery, work has been spurred on with respect to the new cold frame area. More on my blog here.
Due to the peach leaf curl we have had to bite the bullet and strip the peach and nectarine of affected leaves. We also have reduced the size as we intend to move the trees into the greenhouse to try and avoid the problem recurring next year.
The plot is steadily turning green.
