The East Lancashire Railway is a heritage railway in both Lancashire and Greater Manchester, North-West of England. It is currently (as of May 2013) operating 12 miles (19 km) between Rawtenstall and Heywood, with intermediate stations at Bury Bolton Street, Summerseat, Ramsbottom and Irwell Vale, respectively.

It was a wet morning for our visit to the East Lancashire Railway Gala. The photographs aren’t taken at the usual spots on the railway but are concentrated at the stations of Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall and Summerseat. Fortunately for us the weather improved on Sunday afternoon.
