Although some much colder weather was in the forecast we decided to get our early potatoes planted.

Ruby really enjoys her walks around Nostell Priory. Normally after her walk Ruby needs to have her feet washed to remove grit from her paws. However, this week Ruby was due a full wash something Ruby is not at all keen on.

The weather turned out nice for the weekend and we made a start at getting the plot ready for the new season as well as sowing a few early seeds.

It was another nice spring day on Sunday so we decided to visit the allotment to do a bit of harvesting and have a general look around.

Saturday was a nice sunny day so we decided to do some gardening rather than go to the allotment. We decided to get the grass cut and sort out the pond. After a heron attack the other week we had to cover the pond with a net. This wasn’t a very satisfactory solution so we decided to go back to crisscrossing strings over the pond. The grass was nice and dry so it was a good time to give it a cut for the first time this year. Sue also managed to cut back all the ferns by the summer house.
