On a very windy day, I managed to get a batch of seedlings sown before it got extremely windy in the afternoon. A visit to the plot in the afternoon proved unproductive due to the gale force winds. We didn’t manage to protect our cherry tree.

First batch of brassicas planted on plot 29. These were grown on in fibre pots. It will be interesting to see how they perform and grow away quicker than being transplanted from pots.
15 - 21 April
Weekend 18&19 April 2026
A busy weekend in the greenhouse, potting on lots of seedlings into fibre pots
Some more seeds were sown. Cucumbers and squashes are being held back until the end of the month before sowing. That will be the same as last year, which worked okay.
