01 - 08 March

 

Planted some potatoes in crates in the plot greenhouse

Sowed some carrots and radishes in crates in the ploy greenhouse

Sowed parsley and lettuce in garden greenhouse

Trimmed lavender bed on the allotment.

Clivia that I grew from seed is flowering

Cyclamen seeds taken from houseplants are germinating.

Bought two pot mums.

First harvest of spring?

First sowings on the coldest day of winter

Started planting but only inside

Pruned roses at the allotment

Trimmed gooseberries

Greengage is flowering

Camellia has started to flower

Cut grass at the allotment and in the garden

More tidying of the plot

Cut back autumn fruiting raspberries

Will we be able to get to the plot

23 - 31 March

First week of lockdown but can syll visit the allotment

Replaced passion flower trellis

Started to repair compost bin

Finished pruning gooseberries

Took gooseberry cuttings

Tilled smaller beds

Planted some Casablanca and International Kidney potatoes

Tided some fruit beds and flower beds

Prepared some beds for planting

Carrots have germinated

Saw first peacock butterfly
