A frosty walk with Ruby at Nostell Priory
It was a cold walk around Nostell Priory this week. Even in the afternoon, the ground was still covered with frost. The video starts with Ruby having a bit of off lead walking for the time at Nostell. The lake was mostly ice covered with all the ducks having to find ice free water around the edge of the lake.

Lifting dahlias at last – Harvesting leeks and a savoy
For various reasons over the last few weeks, we’ve been unable to lift our dahlia tubers for winter. With the forecast for a rather long spell of cold and frosty weather, we thought it was our last chance to lift our dahlias. The roots have all been lifted and stored in the plot greenhouse. We also took the opportunity to cut a couple of savoys and lift some more leeks. We’re hoping that these fresh vegetables will see us through the cold spell.
