Unknown problem with 3 trays of leek seedlings

Porbella leeks were sown as a result of problems with earlier sowing. Other than a cold night I don’t know what caused the problem.

We are trying an experiment and attempting to germinate seeds on damp kitchen towel before either potting them on or planting them out on the plot as in the case of parsnips.
