Lots of seeds sown today. All tomato seed trays have been placed in indoor growlight apart from Cuor di bue which have been left in the greenhouse to see if they will germinate.
It was a lovely sunny but cold day but the grass was dry enough to cut.
Our autumn sown sweet peas and early brassica plants were moved from the greenhouse into the coldframe to harden off before planting out at the allotment.

We eventually got around to cutting down the hawthorn tree growing at the side of the plot greenhouse. It was last cut back in 2018 but it had certainly grown quickly since then. The result was that it cut down the light in the greenhouse dramatically.
At the stage in the photo above the easy bits had been cut back. The remaining branches were overhanging the greenhouse and were going to be difficult to cut back. With a little bit of luck, the tree was cut back and all the glass in the greenhouse remained intact.
It was also time to start clearing away the old brassica roots from last year.
Sue planted out our early broad beans into plot 42 and moved some young runners that had rooted from our Sweetheart strawberry plants on plot 29 into our new strawberry bed on plot 42.
