Raspberry bed not dug since 2006? – How would I get on
This raspberry bed was planted in 2006 and refurbished in 2017. The raspberries have become less and less productive over the years. We’ve been planning to dig out the raspberries for the last few years but have never got around to it. I tried over summer, but the ground was far too hard. I decided to have another go this weekend.

Through the year at Nostell Priory – Lakeside view April to April
For a year, Sue took photos in the same place as we walked around Nostell Priory. When put together, these show how the landscape changes through the seasons. We didn’t visit every week, and some weeks may have more than one photo.

A weekend at the allotment and an autumnal Nostell Priory
Although the weather has been dull and cloudy for most of the month, we haven’t had any rain so we made the most of the weather and spent a couple of afternoons at the allotment. We dug our first parsnips of the season and started cutting back the dahlias so they could be lifted for winter storage. We also cleared around our fruit trees and bushes, removing all the brambles that had grown through the trees in summer.

We try out Central Bark – Clumber Park’s dog friendly cafe
We tried out Central Bark Cafe at Clumber Park. It’s their dog friendly cafe. It is a bit too cold now to sit outside for lunch. After lunch we had an afternoon walk around the lake including giving Ruby a game of chase.
