Over Wintering Our Patio Tubs

Tuesday turned out to be a lovely mild day for November. The temperature reached 16.6°C (61.9°F) and with very little wind it felt very pleasant. Whilst this sort of temperature is well above average for the early part of November it’s not particularly unusual. The highest November temperature I’ve recorded is 17.9°C (64.2°F) in 2015.

I’d been planning for some time to move the pots on the patio which are planted up with more tender summer bedding inside the greenhouse. Any we can keep through winter will be a bonus come next spring. I’m sure plants saved through winter produce earlier stronger plants next summer.

I don’t think it’s an awful lot warmer in the greenhouse than outside but at least they are kept out of the winter rain.

They make a good show in the greenhouse and they will last that little bit longer inside.

In the afternoon we decided to take Ruby for a walk at Temple Newsam which is situated in Leeds. We were hoping to get some autumnal photos for good measure.

There were some good autumn colours which would have been much better in a little bit of autumn sunshine. The cloudy conditions didn’t do the trees full justice.

Ruby was on her best posing form as we walked around the estate.
