It’s been a wet start to the year. In a bit of a break in the weather on Saturday afternoon we risked a visit to the allotment to harvest some vegetables. Sue covered our visit in her blog post here. At the risk of spending more time at the allotment than we really wanted we made our first allotment video of the year.
At the halfway stage in the month, we’ve had 53.8mm (2.12in) of rain which is around average for the whole month. We’ve had only one day without any rain at all up to and including the 15th of the month. It’s the wettest January since 2010 at the midpoint of the month.
There are plenty of jobs we could be getting on with at the allotment if it wasn’t so soggy but I like to convince myself that they are best left until the weather improves and we’ll be able to catch up in spring in any case.
