Monday became the hottest day of the year with the temperature reaching 31.4°C or 88.5°F. It moves into ninth equal place in my list of top twenty hottest days since 2010.
All our plants growing in pots at home got a good watering in the morning before it became too hot.
In the afternoon we decided it was too hot to venture down to the allotment so we’re hoping everything will survive the heat. Tuesday is forecast to be cooler so hopefully, we’ll get to the plot to do some watering and harvesting.
The forecast is for more hot weather at the weekend and lasting into the start of next week. Unfortunately, for us there doesn’t seem to be much rain in the forecast for our very parched allotment and garden.
Lovely pot display, well done on keeping them going!
It’s definitely been a challenge.
