It’s Thursday afternoon and we are in between storms Dudley and Eunice. I wasn’t too sure when storm Dudley arrived. I thought initially that storm Dudley had arrived in the early hours of Wednesday morning peaking around 09:00. However, that wasn’t the case and Dudley didn’t arrive until evening time on Wednesday.
As you can see from the wind speeds from my weather station we had a mini Dudley before the main event.
We now await the arrival of storm Eunice, which is forecast to be much stronger than Dudley. The exact track of the storm is still somewhat uncertain but it looks like the strongest of the winds may, if we are lucky, pass to the south of us. However, the forecast is for heavy rain turning to snow on the northern flank of Eunice so we may just get some blizzard conditions instead.
Incidentally, storm Dudley didn’t make it into my top twenty windiest days, based on the highest wind gust speeds on the day, but it did make it into my list of top twenty windiest days based on the average wind speeds over the day as a whole.
I’m guessing that, from the coverage storm Eunice is getting, I’ll be updating my wind speed records again on Saturday morning.
It’s just blooming horrible ! Fed up with it ! Please arrange for us to have some sunshine soon 😊
We just had a storm, too. Fortunately it wasn’t named. It blew open the French doors, and blew soil out of pots and all the pots went over. We had hail, too, and the snow level was down to 3,500 feet, which translates to1,166 meters, at 10 miles away. Keep warm and cozy and enjoy the excitement of changing weather.
We had storm number two today. Didn’t last long but pretty potent. Post coming with details soon. We didn’t get any snow just rain and gale force winds.
