Garlic is harvested when the leaves turn brown. We eat the bulbs of the garlic plant. We don't use the whole of the bulb at once as garlic has a very strong flavour. The bulb splits into smaller pieces called cloves. Each clove is a small bulb or bulblet. A bulb is made up of tightly wrapped leaves. If the cloves are planted, each cloves will grow into a new larger bulb.
