During our holiday in the Cotswolds we found ourselves staying fairly close to Hidcote Manor. The gardens are frequently mentioned in garden magazines and on TV programmes and so we took the opportunity to pay a visit and see for ourselves just what all the fuss was about.
We were prepared to be disappointed especially as it was September when our visit took place – a time when gardens are often winding down. In the event we found that Hidcote lived up to its reputation and we came away with about a hundred photographs and masses of video. Everywhere you turned there seemed to be something to point the cameras at. The grounds of Hidcote Manor are laid out in a series of garden rooms divided by tall hedges and walls. Each room, with its own style and atmosphere, is designed to be at its best at a particular time of year maintaining interest through each season.
A selection of photographs is shown in the album below which will hopefully give you a flavour of Hidcote. If you have time and the interest to see more, all the photographs that were taken can be viewed from this link.
The film made of the visit is far too large to upload and so the clip below is just a flavour of what there is to enjoy
