Situated just north west of York, Beningbrough Hall is a Georgian manor house set in a park and gardens. Alongside the more usual fruit and vegetables we noticed a patch of liquorice which is a plant that I had never seen growing before.
As well as browsing the walled garden in which fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowering plants are grown alongside one another, we enjoyed a wander around other garden areas both formal. Also on display are various examples of old garden machinery in a stable block and other old garden equipment in the potting shed.
