That trip was disappointing, so on Thursday we tried again at a different garden centre. I\u2019m not sure why I hadn\u2019t thought of them sooner, as we\u2019ve visited before and thoroughly enjoyed it. After a few adjustments, Stillingfleet had everything we needed. In autumn, I will add spring bulbs.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-da54b8f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"da54b8f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">At the allotment<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">We are holding off planting too much for now, not wanting to risk young growth being nipped by frosts. Some plants recover, but the setback can be significant. Later plantings often catch up with \u2014 or even overtake \u2014 those that were hit early.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Despite this, I did plant a bed with cabbages and cauliflowers, hopefully hardy enough to withstand a frost. No doubt the resident horde of wood pigeons were watching closely, hoping we\u2019d leave things unprotected \u2014 we didn\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
