I don\u2019t have much to write about this week as we have more or less been confined indoors.\u00a0<\/p>

Martyn had another \u00a0appointment at the hospital to have the dressing on his nose changed. Everything is going well, so now we have to change the dressings ourselves. \u00a0I wasn\u2019t allowed to accompany, Martyn so he had to teach me how to fix the dressing as it\u2019s impossible to dress your own nose. They have booked him another appointment for next week which he can cancel if he feels that he doesn\u2019t need it.<\/p>

I \u00a0had the results of my biopsies, well I say results but I still don\u2019t know exactly what has caused my rash. My letter just said that no other treatment is needed and that a follow up appointment will be made in due course.<\/p>

We still haven\u2019t been to the allotment, however even if we had been able to pay a visit, the horrible weather would have probably kept us away.\u00a0<\/p>

The wind has been relentless and often accompanied by squally rain. Not at all gardening weather.<\/p>

The only garden related activity was to collect our order of seed potatoes and onion and shallot sets from our local garden centre. We have chosen, Casablanca, Charlotte, Elfe, Osprey, Nadine and Rudolf for our main planting. We usually choose some new, to us, varieties to trial. This year we will be trialling Heidi Red and Alouette.<\/p>

We have chosen four onion varieties, Sturon, Hercules, Centurion and Setton, all of which are globe shaped which we prefer. Having had no success growing red onions from sets, we are going to try growing Red Baron from seed.<\/p>

We have also bought two lots of shallot sets, Longor and Meloine.<\/p>

We have been kept fairly busy indoors as we are preparing to have some work done in a couple of upstairs rooms. We\u2019ve been busy clearing cupboards and drawers of unwanted items that we have accumulated over the years and taking them for recycling. I ended up with two sackfuls off coat hangers!<\/p>

Two meals that used some of our homegrown produce last week included a turkey casserole which used our carrot, onion and frozen sweet corn, peas, green and broad beans.\u00a0<\/p>

The other meal was a chicken and leek stroganoff <\/a>into which went our onion, leeks and parsley. I cooked the chicken for longer as I was wary of cooking chicken for such a short time.<\/p>

We also used some Wensleydale patties from the freezer that I had made previously using our leeks.\u00a0Click here the details are at the end of the post.<\/a>

haven\u2019t included lots of photos this week as I have suddenly acquired an aching shoulder which is at its worst when I sit upright which I need to do in order to download and edit my photos on my desktop computer. At least I can enter the text leaning back on the sofa.<\/p>

Here\u2019s hoping things improve weather and shoulder wise this week \u00a0As always stay safe and well.
