The main problem we find with using weed control fabric is that the cut edges fray very badly leaving strands of weed control fabric in the soil. Last year I experimented by cutting the ends of the fabric with a small kitchen flame gun. Once out into the meadows it was much quieter and we could let Ruby off the lead to chase her ball. However, Ruby headed off in the wrong direction and we both had a bit of a struggle to find the ball. The bluebells were out as we walked through the woods.
