Monday morning was cooler and cloudy enough to produce some light drizzle. The temperature made it to 22.9\u00b0C (73.2\u00b0F) which isn&#8217;t anything at all special for the middle of July. There is a &#8220;but&#8221; to the story as Sunday was not just the hottest day of this July it was also the coldest with an early morning temperature of 8.7\u00b0C (47.7\u00b0F) unusually cold for the middle of summer.\u00a0<\/p><div>As you can see from the chart above Sunday was the first day of the month to reach the average daytime temperature for July and apart from a couple of nights all the night time temperatures have been below average too.<\/div><div><figure id=\"attachment_1730\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1730\" style=\"width: 848px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1730\" src=\"https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020-07-13-below-average.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"848\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020-07-13-below-average.png 848w, https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020-07-13-below-average-300x189.png 300w, https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020-07-13-below-average-768x484.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 848px) 100vw, 848px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1730\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">July 2020 High &amp; Low Temperatures with 10 year averages<\/figcaption><\/figure><div>We&#8217;ve already had a decent amount of rainfall this month adding up to 51.6mm which isn&#8217;t far from July&#8217;s average rainfall.<\/div><div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1732\" src=\"https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_1294.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_1294.jpg 640w, https:\/\/ossettweather.com\/gardening2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_1294-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/div><div><div>The rainfall has kept the ground at the allotment workable and our Kalibro cabbages could be planted out without any advanced watering.
