The real name for the cabbage family is brassica. Turnips, swedes and radish are root vegetables but are also members of the brassica family. Their seeds are very similar and can be treated in the same way
Brassica seeds can be planted straight into the soil in a seed bed
They need to be planted about 13 mm deep.
When they are large enough thin out the seedlings. Leave one seedling every 15 cm. This give the plants room to grow.
To thin out gently pull up the seedlings that you do not need.
