Gooderstone Water Gardens

During a holiday in Suffolk we happened to stumble upon a little treasure of a garden - Gooderstone Water Gardens in Norfolk. We found the garden quite by accident by picking up a leaflet when visiting a nearby owl sanctuary.

The garden is set in six acres and comprises of a trout stream and a series of linked ponds flanked by lawns, flower beds and mature trees.

The garden was created in 1970 by a retired farmer. After being closed for several years the garden was reopened again in 2002. One part of the garden is set aside as a nature trail with a bird hide from which we managed to have several glimpses of a kingfisher

It really is one of the most beautiful gardens that we have visited and as a bonus dogs are welcome to visit with their owners.
