NT: Acorn Bank

Acorn Bank is a national Trust property 5 miles from Penrith in Cumbria. It boasts a walled garden that houses the North of England’s largest collection of herbs.

Leaving the herb garden visitors find themselves in an orchard area,. Additionally you can browse garden areas and a wild garden area.

A pathway that runs alongside Crowdundle Beck leads to a partially restored water mil where during our visit swallows were nesting.

The house is also currently being restored with part of it open to the public.

The photos below don’t include the beck side walk or water mill area.
