1 - 5 August
Last lot of Casablance potatoes lifted and bed dug over
Lifted all the shallots
Bought some Purple Sprouting broccoli plants
Day out on North Yorkshire Moors
Still watering
Quarrying our remaining Casablance potatoes - video
6 - 12 August
Lifted onions
Dug trial variety potatoes
Took part in Radio Leeds show again
Thinned some of the outdoor bunches of grapes.
More watering
Very little rain
Started picking purple climbing French beans Cosse Violette
Peas finished
Picking lots of plums Oullins Gage - no wasps yet
Planted winter cabbage - Sabrosa and cauliflower Aalsmeer
Started harvesting second bed of cabbage - Kalibro and calabrese - Montclano
Annual flower patch - with video
Rain forecast - so far not a lot

13 - 19 August
We had a heavy rain shower
Sowed green manure - buckwheat and grazing rye.
Visited North Yorkshire Moors
Picking Oullins Gage plum and greengages.
Pruned out old canes of Glencoe and Black Jewel raspberries and tied in the new cane
Pruned on bed of jostaberries and gooseberries
Potted up some rooted runners from Sweetheart strawberry
Made and froze tomato sauce
Picked first bunch of grapes from garden greenhouse.

20 - 26 August
Lifted more potatoes
Prepared bed for autumn onions
Planted purple sprouting broccoli
Thinned more grapes.
Cut out this years fruiting canes of summer raspberries and tayberry
Tied in tayberry
Picked lots of greengages.
Had some rain so less watering needed temperatures dropped too.
Picked first sweetcorn cob
Picked cauliflowers and cabbage from second planting
Forgotten what a wet day is like

Dug Charlotte potatoes
Started pruning redcurrants
Started cutting back overgrown shrubs in the garden and tidying front garden bed
Potted up camellia cuttings
Shouldn't borage flowers be blue?
Beginning to feel a bit like autumn
