Introduction Our Plot at GLA Blog A Gardeners' Weather Diary March April May June

April 1 - 2

Both great tits returned to roost in the box and 1 April but on the morning of 2 April one bird left the box leaving a shower of feathers behind which seemed to indicate that there had been a serious falling out. That evening only one bird returned.

Still no signs of any nest building.

April 3 - 11

Since then one bird returns to roost each evening but there has been no other activity. Daily vigorous tapping sounds are coming from a nearby box which doesn’t have a camera.

April 12 -13

A second bird arrived and settled down for the night to roost but in the morning the birds didn’t part on amicable terms.

April 13 -14

Only one bird returned to roost.


April 14 - 15

The bird box was empty overnight
